Team Webmaster : Electric Power-based motorcycle development company PT Icatch International Indonesia signed a cooperation agreement with Muhammadiyah for the supply of 500 thousand units of electric motorcycles.
“Muhammadiyah agreed to buy at least 500,000 units of electric motorcycles from PT Icatch International Indonesia within 4 years,” said President Director of PT Icatch International Indonesia Ren-Hao Hsu in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He added that this cooperation is expected to support the government’s efforts to combat global pollution and the success of electric technology-based vehicle programs.
Similarly, Chairman of the economic and business affairs of Muhammadiyah Nugraha Hadi Hidayat said this cooperation is in order to support government programs that seek more use of electric-based vehicles. This is ultimately expected to support environmental sustainability as well as global pollution.
In the future, PT Icatch International Indonesia will also cooperate with various parties to help realize government programs, especially regarding the development of the technology sector and the target use of electric-based vehicles in Indonesia.
It is known that the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and investment (Kemenko Marves) targets the use of electric vehicles (EV) to reach 13 million electric two-wheeled vehicles (e-2W) and 2 million electric four-wheeled vehicles (e-4W) by 2030.
“To realize EVs in Indonesia, we need to make them available, affordable as well as provide good infrastructure and reliable vehicles,” the Coordinating Ministry’s deputy for Transport and infrastructure Marves Rachmat Kaimuddin said in a statement received in Jakarta last week.
He stated that the transition of electric vehicles in Indonesia is a strategic opportunity for economic growth and National Energy Security.
In addition, he said that such efforts will have a positive impact on improving air quality, reducing carbon emissions, and providing economic benefits to society at large.
