The ‘Accidental Delete’ feature comes to the rescue (Picture: Whatsapp)
The delete message feature on Whatsapp is a lifesaver but how many times have you hit the wrong button and put yourself in an embarrassing situation?
If you’ve ended up accidentally deleting a message only for yourself instead of removing it from the conversation for everyone, you’re not alone.
WhatsApp has heard you and rolled out a new group chat feature that lets you undo the ‘Delete for Me’ action, to avoid potentially embarrassing scenarios.
The feature comes just in time for the holidays, hopefully helping avoid awkward Christmas dinner conversations.
We’ve all been in situations where we have sent a message to the wrong person or group and accidentally clicked on ‘Delete for me’ instead of ‘Delete for Everyone’, leaving us in an uncomfortable position.
Accidental Delete is a new feature to protect you from these tricky situations.
But you’ll have to be quick as you’ll now have a five-second window to reverse the Accidental Delete, and click on ‘Delete for Everyone’.
This feature is available to all users on Android and iPhone.
This is one of the many features released by the Meta-owned messaging app thing year, like additional voice note controls, the ‘Community’ feature to bring together several group chats etc.
