Colby Cosh: The problems with a minimum universal corporate tax


On Monday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen endorsed the idea of a “global minimum” tax on corporations. Nobody in Canada seems to have taken too much notice of this; our punditariat is busy wondering if it is appropriate for a former central banker to sniff around partisan politics after he (or she) leaves the job. I carry no water for Mark Carney, but perhaps it’s worth observing that nobody in the United States seems to have worried about whether Janet Yellen, former U.S. Federal Reserve chair, was an appropriate choice for President Joe Biden’s cabinet.
