Drone photos show deserted, ‘eerie’ beaches as crowds cease during coronavirus shutdown

It was an eerie sight looking out at the vast Southern California sand usually jam-packed with people enjoying spring break this time of year.

Instead, Huntington Beach’s popular shoreline was deserted – like a scene from the ‘Twilight Zone’ – with a few scattered people staying to themselves, said Steve Farnsworth, who rode his bike to the coast to scope out what it looked like this week as parking lots and the pier were shut down to curb crowds.
