How Much Will It Cost?
The day is set to cost £2m of taxpayers’ money – ramped up from the initial £750,000 which was going to be paid for by the couple’s parents.
The cost has been boosted by extra firearms officers attending to tighten security, but the decision has not escaped backlash.
At least 40,000 people have signed a petition against public funds being spent on the ceremony.
In it, organisers Republican – who campaign for an elected head of state – say the standing of the royal family risks being ruined as they are “stretching its public support to breaking point”.
Where Can I Watch It?
ITV will be broadcasting the morning service and cameras will capture the ceremony from 9:25am to 12:30pm. Viewers able to see guests arriving and leaving.
This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamon Holmes will present the show.
