High school track: Top performances from 2018 (Week 6)

Sports

With five major meets across the state, Week 6 was a busy week on the track and as a result there were numerous outstanding performances to show for it.

Of the 14 individual boys events, six had the best performance of 2018 record last week.

On the girls side, there were three new top performances recorded last week.

Beaver’s Austin Carter once again added a foot to his state-best shot put throw of 64’10.50, while Timpview’s Aidan Troutner posted a strong time of 9:08.69 in the 3,200 meters.

In the girls long jump, Cedar’s Julia Hunt stood out with a jump of 18’03.50 at the Desert Hills meet.

Here’s a run down of up to top 15 boys and girls track & field performances in each event three weeks into the track season.

Individuals are only listed once if they have multiple top-15 results in the same event and wind times are not included. Only performances at in-state sanctioned meets are included.

Note for coaches: If one of your athletes has a top-15 performance that isn’t listed, please contact prep editor James Edward at prepstats@desnews.com.
