A lot happened at the Coachella music festival on Saturday night, but it all began and ended with Beyoncé — what else is new?
After postponing her appearance last year due to her pregnancy with twins Rumi and Sir, Beyoncé made the most of her setlist, performing hits and fan-favourites, including “Kitty Kat,” “Get Me Bodied” and “I Care.”
As the first black woman to headline the music festival, by the jaw-dropping two-hour performance’s end, the entire event was unofficially dubbed Beychella (by none other than DJ Khaled), and for good reason.
1. Destiny’s Child
Never one to be afraid of her ’90s roots (hello, Justin Timberlake), Beyoncé was joined by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a triumphant Destiny’s Child reunion. The trio performed and danced through a medley of their hits “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name” and “Soldier.”

Beyoncé was also joined by husband and frequent collaborator JAY-Z to perform “Deja Vu” ahead of their On The Run 2 tour. The two have had a more contentious history as of late, after both were more open than ever in their music about his cheating scandal, leading to her acclaimed album Lemonade and his, uh, effortful 4:44. Twitter was met with a lull when he took the stage, many poking fun at her ability to perform at high energy for two hours straight, but “jay-z has to rap 12 lines and sounded like he was about to have an asthma attack.”
