A Bangladeshi aircraft carrying 67 passengers has crashed as it attempted to land at Kathmandu on Monday morning.
An airport official said 17 people on board have been rescued, though the fate of the remaining passengers and crew is not yet clear.
The flight from the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka is operated by US-Bangla Airlines. It is believed to have veered off the runway before bursting into flames.
Airport spokesman Birendra Prasad Shrestha said: “We are trying to bring the fire under control. Details are awaited,” he said
