Utah’s most unwanted tech item for 2017 fit right in line with the rest of the country.

New data from Decluttr found that the iPhone 6 was Utah’s “most unwanted tech” item of the year, meaning it was traded in to Decluttr, which offers cash for traded-in items, more than any other device.

Ten states sold iPhone 6s to Decluttr more than any other items. The iPhone 7 ranked second with nine states, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 finished at third with six states, according to the report.

These trades were mostly because “the amount of Apple products Americans own and the launch of three new iPhones in 2017,” according to Decluttr.

Samsung proved to be the second least-wanted brand with five states trading in the S6 and six selling the S7 device.

But, like the Apple devices, these Samsung trad-in items were likely due to the increase in new Samsung tech items.

Apple recently announced that it plans to rework its parental controls to help parents monitor how often their children use the phone, according to The Verge.

Apple’s announcement came after a pair of shareholders, who own a combined $2 billion in Apple stock, said the company needs to take a better stance against mental health issues associated with smartphones, CNNMoney reported.

The two shareholders penned an open letter that asked Apple to create better controls that can help children monitor how often they use their smart devices.

“Apple can play a defining role in signaling to the industry that paying special attention to the health and development of the next generation is both good business and the right thing to do,” the letter read.
