SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz may be without their best big man tonight.
Center Rudy Gobert is listed as questionable as the Jazz prepare to host the Brooklyn Nets at 7 p.m.
Gobert suffered a right knee contusion in the third quarter of last night’s 84-74 loss to the Miami Heat. He clashed with Heat guard Dion Waiters in what he suggested was a “dirty play.”
“It feels better than it looked on the video,” Gobert said after the loss. “I think it was a dirty play, but no matter what the most important thing is to keep getting better and to win tomorrow.”
He was initially listed as probable to return, and did finish the game with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gobert is the NBA’s leading shot blocker and finished runner-up to Golden State’s Draymond Green in the Defensive Player of the Year race last season.
Utah (5-7) has lost four straight games. The Jazz and Nets both weren’t available for shootaround this morning after both teams played Friday night.
Brooklyn topped Portland, 101-97. Nets guard D’Angelo Russell ended with 21 points.
“I think we need to get (down) our execution,” Gobert said after Friday’s loss. “(We need to) do a better job trusting each other.”
